Terms of Use and Sale

Last updated: 16 July 2026

Plain-language summary: Signato is confidentiality-chamber software licensed as a subscription, in one of two tiers (Essential, Institutional), billed per operation, not per seat. You can try it before you pay in either of two ways: run the free local trial with no card at all, or start a subscription at checkout, where a card is required but the first 30 days are free. The original AI in Hiring Compliance Toolkit remains available as a one-time purchase. Monthly subscriptions cancel anytime; annual subscriptions carry a 90-day, full-refund guarantee. All Signato materials are support material, not legal advice, and we do not guarantee compliance or any specific outcome.

1. Who we are

Signato (the "Service") is an independent publisher of AI governance intelligence and the developer of the Signato confidentiality chamber, software that checks who is allowed to know what before information goes out. Contact: hello@signato.ai. By using the site, running the software, or buying a product, you agree to these terms.

2. What we sell

Three things, sold separately:

The free weekly newsletter and the free Starter Kit PDF are provided at no charge and are not a purchase.

3. Free local trial

You can request a local trial from the trial page with a name and a work email. No account and no payment details are collected for the trial itself; the package is a direct download, not a listing on any public package index. Installing it and running the software once starts a 30-day trial window, timestamped on your own machine. The trial runs the same checking engine as a paid subscription, against your own configuration on your own machine, not a limited demo mode.

Requesting the trial does not enroll you in the weekly newsletter. You are added to it only if you separately check the newsletter box on the trial form, and you can unsubscribe from it at any time. If the 30-day window closes without an active subscription, verification commands lock and the software tells you the window has closed; it does not delete your configuration, does not transmit anything, and never fails open (a locked copy refuses to run rather than silently allowing). Choosing a plan afterward reactivates it in place, and nothing you configured during the trial is lost.

4. Price, currency, and payment

Prices for the subscription plans and for the toolkit are shown on the pricing page and the toolkit page in US dollars. The Portuguese-language pricing page additionally shows a price in Brazilian reais set for that market, on the same license terms as the US dollar offer. Institutional pricing is by custom proposal, starting from the amount shown on the pricing page. Payment for subscriptions and for the toolkit is processed by Stripe. Any applicable taxes are your responsibility unless stated otherwise at checkout.

5. Billing, renewal, and cancellation

New subscriptions bought through checkout on the pricing page. Monthly and annual plans alike begin with 30 free days. Your card is authorised at checkout but not charged during that window: if you cancel before day 31, you pay nothing.

Monthly plans. The first charge falls on day 31, and every month thereafter. You can cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid month and no further charges are made after cancellation. We do not prorate partial months.

Annual plans. The first charge falls on day 31, for the full year at the discounted annual price shown on the pricing page, and carries a 90-day, full-refund guarantee counted from that first annual payment, under our Refund Policy.

Renewals. You can cancel before any renewal date yourself, anytime, in your account portal (enter your purchase email; Stripe sends you a secure sign-in link), or by emailing hello@signato.ai. If a renewal charge goes through that you did not intend, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will resolve it.

The toolkit is a one-time charge, not a subscription, and is not affected by this section.

6. License to use the software

A subscription grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the Signato software within your own operation, for as long as the applicable subscription term is active. The license is validated locally, through a signed, offline license file tied to your installation; there is no network call to us to check it, consistent with the software's local-first design. You may not reverse engineer the software for competing purposes, resell it, sublicense it, or redistribute it outside your own operation.

Toolkit files carry a separate license: you may use and adapt them within your own organization, including for your internal compliance work, and you may not resell, sublicense, publicly redistribute, or share them outside your organization. The brand, text, software, and design remain ours in every case.

7. Delivery

After checkout, your signed licence is issued automatically and sent to the email address you used, normally within minutes; you activate it locally with a single command, and no part of that check leaves your machine. The trial package is delivered immediately after the short request form. The toolkit is delivered digitally: after a successful payment, your purchase is verified and the download is made available on the confirmation page. If you have any trouble accessing a subscription, a trial download, or the toolkit, contact hello@signato.ai and we will resolve it.

8. One-time digital products and immediate delivery

The AI in Hiring Compliance Toolkit is a digital file delivered immediately after purchase. By completing that purchase and accessing the download, you ask us to start delivery right away and acknowledge that, under EU consumer rules for digital content, the standard 14-day right of withdrawal no longer applies once delivery has begun. This does not affect your statutory rights where the product is faulty or not as described. This section does not apply to the subscription plans, which instead follow the 30-day free window and the cancellation terms in section 5.

9. Nature of the materials, no legal advice

All Signato content, products, and software are support material, not legal advice, and do not create a lawyer-client relationship. They do not certify conformity with the EU AI Act, US hiring laws, or any other law, and outcomes depend on your own facts, your own configuration, and your own decisions. Verify anything important with qualified counsel.

10. No warranties

The Service, products, and software are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Service or a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

12. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, with jurisdiction in the competent courts of Brazil, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Questions: hello@signato.ai.
